Improvements from all corners are advancing at a rapid pace. It started with the first Industrial Revolution when we discovered how to harness the power of steam fully. This led to a second industrial revolution that lasted up to the 1970s when we discovered digital computers. In the Third Industrial Revolution, we discovered digital computing, and we created a virtual world of bits and bytes.
According to some experts, we are at the beginning of a fourth industrial revolution. What makes this fourth Industrial Revolution so different is that we are well on the way to developing the ability to design and engineer the world around us through the advent of artificial intelligence, virtual Reality, nanotechnology, quantum computing, flying cars, robotics.
Internet of Things (IoT) has created a revolution of sorts, forging a deeper bond between man and machine. From Amazon’s Alexa, Google’s Home to smart watches, baby monitors, smart TVs everything is connected to the Internet. It is estimated that by 2020, 22% of automobiles will be connected to the internet and most of the home devices by 2024
